The family-friendly concert takes place on Saturday 7 February on Queenstown Recreation Ground in the town centre, the same venue and weekend as the inaugural Hilux New Zealand Rural Games, a two-day celebration of ‘sports that built the nation’.

The Topp Twins, who also provide entertainment during both days of the Games, will perform a few numbers with Jody to open the show before James Reid performs. Jody Direen then returns to the stage to headline with her band and deliver a knock-out set including her latest single ‘Mine’ and recent hits ‘Loud’ and ‘Tattoo’ that reached number three in the NZ Official Top 40 single chart.

Born, raised and still living in Wanaka, Jody was recently shortlisted for ‘New Oz Artist of the Year’ by Australia’s CMC Music Awards that take place in Brisbane on 12 March. Her new album ‘Jody Direen Breaks Out’ will be released in April.

As the vocalist, guitarist and songwriter for The Feelers, James Reid is established as one of New Zealand’s most successful musicians. He and The Feelers have sold more albums than any other New Zealand band, making musical history as the first Kiwi act to have four successive Number One albums.

James will be performing Feelers songs at the Queenstown Summer Concert along with work from his first solo album ‘Saint’. His band includes local Queenstown bassist, Sam Ross who has just returned from touring the North Island with James and The Feelers.

Doors open at 7.00pm for the concert supported by Wild Buck that starts at 7.30pm and finishes around 10.30pm. Tickets are available in advance from Ticket Direct at a discount from the gate price. Pre-sale tickets cost $35 adults, $15 children/youth (5-17 years) with under-5s free. A family pass for two adults and up to three children costs $85 pre-sale (i.e. up to two children free).
